Emma Thompson, Viola Davis, Emmy Rossum, and Jeremy Irons, especially, seem to be enjoying themselves immensely as titular grownups in a teenage love story. This cast--and Lena's unexpected but badass supernatural power--all help add up to a delicious guilty pleasure. Also, you should know that this review will contain SPOILERS, so do not continue reading if you don't want to know why this movie doesn't do the book justice.When I first saw the movie trailer, I thought to myself it looked like something I would enjoy since I really liked the Twilight series, and I initially saw it as "Twilight except with witches"... errr... "Casters". Since the movie opening was a month away, it left me plenty of time to read the book. I really enjoyed reading Beautiful Creatures and read the entire book (all 550+ pages) very quickly. I do my best to look at the as a separate story, because in most cases they are. Beautiful Creature is a great book and I do wish that the movie could have instilled a little more of the key points from the book into it's big screen adaptation, but as a movie I really enjoyed it. There was a great cast to the movie and some great scenery throughout the movie. If your going to harshly pick about the differences between the book and movie, this probably will not be the movie for you. However, if you intend on watching it as more of a cinematic adventure then your in for a good time. It was a entertaining movie and was not a waste of money in my opinion.
