I enjoyed being introduced to the family in season 1 and am interested to see how they fare through WWI. You can watch season 2 for FREE on PBS.com. I highly recommend going there instead of paying for it on Amazon. 8 of 8 people found the following review helpful: By Brett H "pentangle" (Brighton) - See all my reviews This review is from: Masterpiece: Downton Abbey Original UK Version Season 2 (Amazon Instant Video) The greatly anticipated second series of Downton Abbey picks up two years on from the first series in 1916, in the middle of World War 1. Their are people you 'love' and people you 'hate'...so you are cheering and jeering all within sections of 10 or 15 minutes. LOVE Bates & Anna, Mrs. Hughes...Carson is endearing...Lady Mary makes my mad, disappointed, or sad from one moment to the next. Lady Grantham drives me nuts with her naive belief of her personal maid O'Brien. Thomas is just plain evil...and this new fiancee Lavinia (of Matthew Crawley's) is up to some disastrous plot with Sir Richard...hope Lady Rosamund sniffs it out in time to save Matthew from marrying the little twit...or before Lady Mary succumbs to Sir Richard. The only player that the writers cannot seem to make up their mind about is Lady Edith...one minute she is charming, then... Read more |
